Please vote for Jim Lomako on

Why
are leading cartoonists supporting Jim Lomako for Pasadena City
Council?
Noted District 2 artists like
Leland Myrick and Tony Millionaire are voting for Jim for the
same reasons as everyone else. They want Pasadena to keep its
historic charm and not become another overbuilt LA suburb. They
treasure the authentic over the artificial. They want their kids
to grow up in a real community where people of all colors and
styles are welcome.
They know that Jim can be trusted
to make important decisions on the basis of those shared values
and not to pay off political debts or for anyone’s personal
profit.
As cartoonists, they know that
sometimes it is a personal responsibility to stand up and
announce that the emperor is wearing no clothes.
-
When the Gold Line platforms were built with faulty concrete,
Jim made sure that they were fixed, although that meant opposing
the incumbent council member.
- When a wealthy property owner wanted to take over the end of
Madia Street, Jim helped the neighbors to stop the give-away,
even though it was in another district.
- When city leaders failed to protect architectural gems, like
the Raymond Theater, the Greene & Greene Herkimer Arms, or homes
in a landmark district, Jim came to the defense of our heritage.
They know that Jim will fight for better schools, environmental
responsibility, open space, and to use Pasadena’s success to
help those who are less fortunate.
